Name of Restaurant: Pagliai’s Pizza & Pasta
Location of Restaurant: 1129 Broadway St, Cape Girardeau, MO

This place has been around since the mid-’60′s. One can imagine why because as soon as you step in, you are enveloped by the amazing smell and the set up they’ve got going on. It makes you feel like you aren’t in some college town.

I can’t ever think of a better pizza that I’ve ever had. They hand make the dough right there in the restaurant. Since it is busy enough, it is always fresh. They also happen to make the sauce, which is spicy enough to tantilize any tastebud, though not overwhelming for those who can’t handle heat. Needless to say, it was perfect. Most pizza joints use shredded cheese on their pizza’s-not here. They slice the cheese off a block, which makes it nice and stringy cheesey. They also have their own slicers when they slice meats and veggies. Perfect.

If you are ever in Cape and have a hankering for a pizza, go to Pagliai’s. You’ll not find a better pizza.

Directions-coming off of Interstate 55 going S.
-Take a left at the light onto William St (of K, as is also known as)
-Take a left at the Kingshighway light.
-Make a right on Broadway
The restaurant is located right across from the entrance to get into the University.

Old Brick House, Ste. Genevieve, MO

Name of Restaurant: Old Brick House
Location of Restaurant: 90 S. 3rd Street, Ste. Genevieve, MO
Date of Visit: April 30, 2006

Market Street I’ve lived here for a while but have never had the chance to visit the Old Brick House until just recently. We went for a Sunday buffet lunch. The front part of the restaurant was closed and we were seated in the back, there were only two other tables occupied and the far section of that area was also closed.

The buffet was filled with the likes of fried chicken, green beans, mashed potatoes, liver dumplings, and more country foods. The food was wonderful. It was hot and fresh, not like some buffets where they only fill the food when the other stuff has become so old it’s no longer recognizable. On more than one occassion, an employee brought out fresh food before it was required.

The only thing I would have to complain about was that one employee started vacuuming near our table while we and several other tables were still eating. I was very glad, however, that my two-year-old (afraid of vacuums) did not cry. It turned out later that she was new, so we forgave her. :)

Overall, we had a nice, quiet, and delicious meal and will definitly go back again.

Chimichanga’s Mexican Restaurant

Hello! Ok, here goes my first “official” review. Chimichanga’s Mexican Restaurant – 5425 S Grand Blvd south – in St. Louis. B+ on food – although my friend said the beef chimichanga is a winner (which makes sense, given the restaurant’s name….) A+ on atmosphere – watch out for the Mariachi Band! The bright yellow walls add a lot of flair.
: ) I have a feeling I need to work on my food reviews…..
