Name of Restaurant: Frankie Gianino’s
Location of Restaurant: Imperial, MO location
Date of Visit: June 30, 2008
This was my first visit to a Frankie G’s, as my husband calls it. We’re closer to this location, so we chose it for a Sunday lunch, out without our four-year-old.
At first glance, I liked the place. The restaurant was clean and quiet, not real busy by the time we got there, and the decor was nice, almost minimalist. Just enough to enjoy without any decoration overload.
We soon placed our orders but the waitress came back to tell me that she’d told me the wrong kind of cheese that’s in the lasagna. This may be too much information, but I am highly lactose intolerant and can only handle certain kinds of cheeses without pills… pills that I didn’t have. I quickly found out, however, that Frankie G’s was happy to accommodate me, to put whatever kind of cheese I liked into any dish, except the lasagna. But that was okay and I soon enough placed a special order.
When the food arrived, I almost fainted. There was so much of it!! I think that food to money proportion is about right, but it was most certainly more than either of us could eat, especially after the appetizers (which were awesome, by the way). Seriously, the photo doesn’t show nearly the amount of food there was. I think that we agreed that next time, we would get by just fine with one plate for the three of us! I ate my fill but it hardly looked as if I’d touched my food. We went home with enough food for several snacks and lunches over the next two and a half days.
Over all, I had a great experience and I can’t wait to go back, I’m thinking on a soon-to-come girl’s night out this time!
Final Rating: 5 Star(s)

Thank you very much for your kind words and wonderful pictures of my restaurant. Although some guests like that they don’t have to cook for a couple of days, we do offer some pastas as half orders. Thanks again!
To be honest, I went there about a month or two ago, and I was very unsatisfied with the service and food. The waiter and waitress that helped us were rude. The food was ok (2/5) and they just didn’t seem to like that we had a big group. When we first walked in, they said, “10 people???” We were like, “Yeah, have you never had big parties?” We usually go with our whole family and we always tip better than most. I can say I personally will never go there again, and hope that others have way better service than we did!
Ok no offense but who orders lasagna and is lactose intolerant??? You know theres cheese in the dish and more than likely its going to be mozzarella or ricotta..just doesn’t make sense to me. The food is always awesome at gianinos. And Randy, it sounds like you had an attitude before you got into the restaurant..no big surprise that you didn’t like it. Stick with ponderosa, its suits you better.
Well, Louis, no offense taken because apparently you don’t read very well. As stated above, I can have some cheeses without pills. I originally asked for only mozzarella, which I can have. I have a love affair with cheese. I just have to make sure I only eat certain kinds.
We always go to Frankie Gs they are the best. We usually go with a family of 5 but sometimes extended family goes and we may have 12 people they always take care of us and the food is excellent always too much but leftovers are still as good as the first time it was served. We love Frankie Gs whether its the pasta or the hot wings everything is yummy
I was recently introduced to Frankie G’s by my family who live in Fesus, MO. Can’t get enough of the place. Food, Service, Atmosphere, everything is just right. Adam, the manager, proved to be an exceptional host. I wanted to surprise my sister and her husband on their anniversary, but I had to work. One phone call to Adam and everything was taken care of in a matter of minutes. I can’t go on enough about the entire Frankie G experience. Go – and – enjoy!!!
